Lecture
For the lecture we covered the topic of cloud computing and relational databases. The lecturer went over different types of systems such as utility computing, SAAS, grid computing, content delivery networks, green computing and how to construct relational database. We were taught about the importance of cloud computing to a business and how it can be used by a business to carry out their business activities. In addition to this, we watched several videos on cloud computing to gain a deeper and clear understanding of cloud computing. Also within the lecture we were told about the groupwork deadlines and we were given a reminder of when we are to complete our coursework.
Seminar
For the seminar we did spreadsheet work on excel, which required us to use new formulas like LOOKUP, and V LOOKUP. We went over the formulas and, how businesses may use these formulas to search their products in their inventory. We got into our groups and talked about the group coursework and within the group update one another on what we are doing individually.
