Week 5 Lecture
The lecture began with a video on arcGIS, which is a information system that looks at the maps of the globe, location information, and data using maps. The video was very informative and showed how businesses use this system to help their daily business functions.
The lecture was based on information systems crimes, security and controls. In the lecture we were taught by the lecturer, on online threats, computer viruses, spyware, spam, cyber threats and safeguarding.
The lecture was very interesting and taught us specifically about all the dangerous computer viruses that attack computers and all types of technology. It gave use an in depth look into the business world and how we as individuals in the future can protect our businesses systems from any outer threats.
Week 5 Seminar
In the seminar we did exercise 6 on excel spreadsheets, which focused on a businesses cash flow budget. For the task we had to calculate income, expenses and percentage changes. In the seminar we went over a range of formulas and calculations which, we will need when completing our assignment. Also for the seminar we had to speak to the teacher to confirm how far our group has got with completing the coursework. For the reason that,we were told to research a local business relevant to our assignment. Our teacher informed us that we we need to be on track and complete this task as soon as possible.
